about to melt.

{Dress: Target; Shoes: Payless; Belt: Thrifted}

How was you weekend?

Mine was filled with concerts in the park, picnics, and trying to beat the heat! It hit a hundred this weekend which is like unheard of in Portland! I was dying! Good thing I’m going to Arizona this next weekend for my brothers wedding and will literally melt.

Which reminds me! Any of you have recommendations for the phoenix/Scottsdale area? We have a free day on saturday to explore and avoid the heat!

And now for the winners of the JUNIEblake giveaway!

  1. Well, you can’t really completely avoid the heat in phx other than staying indoors! We have some great malls around the valley…Scottsdale Fashion Mall, Arizona Mills Mall (with outlets), Chandler Fashion Mall… We have lots of fun antique stores downtown phx area off of 7th Ave and the I-10. Here’s hoping you don’t completely melt! I’m used to it by now =)

  2. Aw you’re going to my home state! La Grande Orange in Phoenix is my absolute favorite restaurant – you HAVE to try the 6-layer slice of red velvet cake (not the cupcakes, the slice). Pizzeria Bianco is hailed as the best pizza EVER by lots of places, but be prepared for a 2 hour wait. Cyclo in Chandler is a really cute hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurant that we love. There’s always Oregano’s for Italian – definitely get the pizza cookie, YUM. If you are willing to venture into Gilbert (20-30 min away), go to Liberty Market or Joe’s Farm Grill.

    You can also visit the historic Mesa Temple in downtown Mesa… there’s a really cute little sandwich shop called Urban Picnic in that area that I LOVE. Oh so good.

    Shopping isn’t all that interesting, but Scottsdale Fashion Square has all the chain stores I love (plus, there’s a Sprinkles and Yogurtland across the street). I second JoEllen’s suggestion of vintage shopping off 7th Ave.

  3. grazie in downtown scottsdale. delicious pizza and to die for nutella calzone! we’re going again this weekend/ can’t wait!

    la grande orange–phoenix, get the avocado pizza and add corn…mmmm!
