Eating only cookies and candy with a side of a dirty dr. pepper makes you feel not so great the day after. So who wants to be my Valentine next year? and make ourselves sick off of sweets and a double side order of DDP? I’ll even let you chose the chick flick!

blue is my favorite.

Honestly, this summer was the summer of purchasing J.Crew knock-off statement necklaces for like $12. and I definitely don’t feel bad about it. It was also the summer I realized that half my closet is blue or white, and this dress is no exception. What can I say? blue is my favorite. I honesty try to add in more color but I’m just drawn to more of the neutral colors. I mostly leave the pops of color for accessories, but sometimes I get crazy and wear my bright red skirt.

well we are officially in our 2nd week of school and let me tell you the transition back was a little rough. yikes. but I am so happy to be back at school and not having people yell at me about school uniforms. gotta love those summer jobs!  also can I just throw it out there that i love J. Crews student discount – thanks to that sucker I got this snazzy back to school outfit.

now if the weather would get out of the 80’s that would be cool too, literally. but I will probably be eating those words in about a couple months when it starts snowing. but you know what? you win some and you lose some.

Happy 4th!

^^the woahs of taking pictures on the sand!^^

4th of July is my favorite holiday ever for many reasons:

1. It is our Nations Birthday. Go USA!

2. It consists of fireworks, parades, and BBQ’s all some of my favorite things.

3. Every other year we come to the beach for the week — my favorite place ever!

4. I love the color combo of red, white, and blue — im very patriotic, you see.

5. It’s close to my birthday! So me and the USA can celebrate together.

To express my excitement for this ever so fabulous holiday I wore some 4th of July inspired outfits!

the perfect beach outfit.

Since coming back from London I have been taking it easy, like real easy, before I have to start my 40 hour a week job – the reason why I came home for the summer. After traveling around Europe for 7 weeks my body was in need of some major TLC. I’ve been going to yoga with mi madre several times a week – who has turned into the real yogi! – to stretch and strengthen my muscles. Now if I could just talk my way into getting a massage – that would be the cherry on top.

Now my family is at the beach for our annual week at the beach for the forth of july – which is absolutely my favoritest holiday!! – and I have just been lounging around at the beach taking advantage of the beautiful weather we have been having – which is not normal for the Oregon Coast, despite the fact that it is July!

I have been doing this all while sporting the perfect summer tank I got from Skip N’ Whistle. Seriously guys, I’m like obsessed with it. Don’t worry I haven’t worn it everyday since I’ve gotten it but it has showed up quite frequently in the last week! Since the Oregon Coast can get quite windy throwing on a plaid button up over my top has been the perfect way to stay comfortable and to keep my oh so pale skin from getting extremely burnt!

Cheers!

I’ve been in Europe for a little over two weeks already! Time has gone by so fast and I feel like I have been here for a lot long than I really have. Our flight got in 6:30am on the morning of April 29th and then we hit the ground running by doing all the classic London stuff and by the end of the day I had been up for about 48 hours. I was an absolute zombie but I didn’t get jet lag because of it! The next morning we took the Eurostar to Paris and I have never felt so helpless entering a country where I had no idea what they were saying. Thankfully my mom knows a good amount of French to help us get around.

I had my robin egg blue trench coat with me and I never felt so out of place in the sea of black…whoops! Didn’t really think that one through. haha But our first stop in Paris was the Eiffel Tower and it was incredible and the view from the top was absolutely breathtaking!

I love Paris and can’t wait to go back one day. I miss it so much!

Stay tuned for more Paris pictures and then some fun London photos!

a graduation.

Note to you all that I’m sorry I’m not sorry but this little blog of mine is going to turn into a little bit of a travel journal of my time aboard in London town where I will share my daily travels and outfits of course.

I hope you tag a long with me during this exciting time.

But as I am on way to London as you read this, here is one last traditional outfit post of the outfit I wore to my sisters college graduation!  3 down, 1 to go. I hope I make it through! haha

So proud of that girl and all that she has accomplished! She is going to be the best drama teacher any school has ever seen!

I leave the country in 20 days!! This past weekend I decided what I’m packing for the 7.5 weeks that I will be in Europe! Let me just say that only being able to take one reasonably sized suitcase is the pits! Especially for an over-packer like me. My sister was helping me and she kept vetoing the amount of things I would pull out. booooo….doesn’t she know that no one likes a party pooper? The trick was to pick pieces that all mixed and matched and could wear a million different ways. But I think I might have it narrowed down and might just share with you what im bringing!

Now I just have to get through finals…woof.

P.s. Any good book/entertainment suggestions for the plane ride? Help!!

winter you have overstayed your welcome.

You know its the dead of winter when you can’t tell the difference between your white shirt and your skin. but then you remember that you are always this pale… good times. then you try to wear sunglasses when the sun is no where to be seen. but you are in desperate need of sun because of the previous point you were trying to make so you wear them anyways. and you wear bright spring colors and sparkles in hopes that the seasons will change faster. and then you can’t stop talking about yourself in second person. awkward.

ps. winter, if you didn’t pick up on it, you can leave now.

Over the long weekend I flew home to Portland and it was glorious. It is so nice to take a break and get away from school, work, and just get a healthy dose of a change in scenery.

We ate and we shopped. We did what we Wilkes’ do best. This outfit was perfect for our day around town. Comfortable, casual, and cute. Plus you can never go wrong with a pair of chuck taylors.
