about to melt.

How was you weekend?

Mine was filled with concerts in the park, picnics, and trying to beat the heat! It hit a hundred this weekend which is like unheard of in Portland! I was dying! Good thing I’m going to Arizona this next weekend for my brothers wedding and will literally melt.

Which reminds me! Any of you have recommendations for the phoenix/Scottsdale area? We have a free day on saturday to explore and avoid the heat!

And now for the winners of the JUNIEblake giveaway!

Get ready for a very patriotic picture over load…

I love the 4th of July. It’s one my favorite holidays.

The day was filled with parades, water games, beautiful weather, shooting off a potato gun, lots and lots of food, good company, a dance party, and fireworks…some legal, some not so, legal.

I hope you all enjoyed the day!

Happy Weekend!

P.s. Don’t forget to enter the Shabby Apple giveaway! It ends Sunday at midnight!

livin’ the life.

{Top: Old Navy; Skirt: Anthro; Sweater: Flea Market in London; Shoes: Target}

I’m seriously the most unsocial person. I go to work. Come home. Watch Netflix. Go to bed at like 10. and Repeat!

Livin’ the life right here!

I actually do have some plans this weekend that do have me interacting with other human beings so we’ll see how it goes….

Happy weekend! Make sure to check back on Monday for a fun giveaway!!

I’m excited about this one.

sister weekend.

{Dress: Gift; Shoes: Miz Mooz}

I can’t believe that around this time last year I moved out of my childhood home and into an apartment with my sister and started my first semester of college! Crazy how time goes by so stinkin’ fast!

Last summer was one of the best summers of my life. At first I was nervous about moving in with my sister because we had had our fair share of what we call “sister moments”, but it turned out that living together was the best thing that could have happened to our relationship. We grew even closer together and she truly became my best friend. We did everything together and we were each others “wing man”. Always having each others back. Being there to make each other laugh during the downs and to help each other celebrate during the ups. That’s what sisters are for. and I am extremely grateful for that.

I was able to visit her for a long weekend this past weekend and it was just like last summer – days in the sun, otter pops, bike/scooter rides and loving life. Bliss.

Cali,

Love you weirdo. Guess what? You’re stuck with me. I hope you are ok with that because I sure am.

Here is to many more crazy adventures together.

Love , Tess

while i was out…round 2.

{Top: hm; Skirt: Thrifted; Shoes: Target}

Well hey there… this whole “while i was out” thing is becoming an unfortunate tradition. Sorry about that. I’m going to try to be better, but not going to lie, the whole break thing was kind of nice. Not having to worry about writing posts and taking pictures but I’m ready to start it up again!

While I was away for the second time…

  • I’ve been a working woman. But my “real” job starts in 2 weeks.
  • No shame. I will be jamming out with j. biebs January 5th 2013 in SLC. Me and my good friend are STOKED and will probably cry at the concert, we love him so much. And if one of us gets picked as the “one less lonely girl” I might die and go to heaven. Fingers crossed!
  • Every time I go to Target it is like a death trap. I go in there for ONE THING! but of course I come out with a new lipstick {which I am in love with!}, a new shirt, and some other random items. It’s just plain rude.
  • I can’t wait for summer to officially start. It’s still full on Oregon spring over here and I am ready for the sun to come out so I can stop looking like a complete albino.
  • I watched the first two seasons of Downton Abbey and I’m in LOVE. I can’t wait for season 3 to come out!

Happy Weekend!

I’m headed to Seattle, which I’m really excited about and it feels good to be back!

While I was out…

{Dress: f21; Sweater: London flea market; Boots: My sisters}

Well hello there….

This is what went down during my absence (sorry about that, but you’ll somewhat understand in a second):

  • Finals
  • Ingrid Michaelson concert, which was A-MAZING! Love her to death.
  • Packing (which is like shoving bamboo shoots under my fingernails)
  • Moving out of my dorm and saying goodbye to the best roomie I could have ever asked for!
  • Being homeless for a week and sleeping on my sisters couch while working all day
  • Driving home!
  • Moving home, after not living here for almost a year…weird.
  • Unpacking (see packing for details)
  • Battling sickness
  • Trying to deep clean my room
  • and during it all, all I  wanted to do was curl up in my bed and watch Netflix….I think I have an addiction.

I can’t believe I am done with freshman year of college! I don’t feel old enough, not one bit. Now I have four months of summer to enjoy. I can’t remember if I have shared this little fact with you all yet but I was in school for about 20 months straight! 20! So you can say that I am ready for a break. But, to be honest, it was super nice having a little break from my little space on here inter-webs, but I am glad to be back in the game!

Happy Tuesday!

a major.

{Dress: Thrifted; Sweater: h&m; Boots: Target}

Man  I would be a great model….I think ill add that last photo to my portfolio.

Many of you asked what I decided on majoring on, so I  guess i’ll share thew news. As of yesterday I am an official Public Health major with an emphasis in Health Promotion. I am really excited as this will help me with what I want to do in the future. I considered so many other majors and this was the one that felt right. I guess now it is time to get started!

Happy Wednesday!

looking forward.

{Shirt & Shoes: f21; Skirt: Thrifted; Jacket: Galore}

This is my last full week of classes before finals…SOOOO crazy. I still can’t believe how fast this last year has flown by. I still feel like I’m not old enough to be in college starting to really make something of myself, and that scares me to death! holy cow. I have grown so much as a person, met great people, and I think I have finally decided on a major after going through a million options.

The future is scary but that’s what makes it exciting. right?

Happy Monday!

home.

I am home.

This weekend will be filled with going to my favorite places to eat and shop, watching Jane Austen movies and

enjoying every second in my beloved home town.

Happy weekend!

p.s. I’m officially announcing the winner of the giveaway on MONDAY! Sorry for not posting it today, but spending time with my momma trumps picking a winner!
